This year's Hawaiian Islands Conference of Young People in AA will be held in the beautiful city of Hilo, Hawaii. There will be conference meetings at the Hilo Hawaiian Hotel along with rooms to book (link on home page). Coconut Island is a beautiful park setting adjacent to the hotel where we have reserved the large pavilion and will be hosting food games and outdoor activities. Bring your swimsuit sunscreen and get ready for some fun in the sun!
Each month there will be a sponsored event to raise awareness, excitement and funds for the conference. This will take place the second Sunday of each month and will change locations on the Big Island, so check out the website to see where we will be next. Each event will have a different theme and activities along with meetings and potlucks. Us Alcoholics are not a glum lot so get ready to get active and have some laughs.
While you're here make the most of this beautiful island! Be sure to check out the local shops in town, see some local beaches, waterfalls, gardens and amazing restaurants. A must see is Volcanoes National Park. Take a trip up to Waimea, down to Puna or over to Kona to get the full experience. There are 8 different climate zones on the Big Island and each has a spectacular beauty to it that is unlike anywhere else.
The purpose of HICYPAA is to carry the message of Alcoholics Anonymous to young people in the state of Hawaii, and to further the principles of A.A. through providing a vehicle of service by, for, and to young people in Hawaii. A ‘Young Person’ is anyone with room to grow. So for the young and young at heart, and anyone interested in continuing their sobriety come join us for a wonderful conference!
Alcoholics Annonymous is a fellowship of people who share their experience strength and hope with eachother that they may solve their common problem and help others recover from alcoholism. The only requirement for memebership is a desire to stop drinking. There are no dues or fees for AA membership; we are self supporting through our own contributions. AA is not allied with any sect denomination, politics, organization or institution; does not wish to engage in any controversy, neither endorses nor opposes any causes. Our primary purpose is to stay sober and help other alcoholics to achieve sobriety.
